Our technology

the science

At Lithium Infinity, our scientists are at the forefront of innovation in Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) technologies. Through pioneering research and strategic collaborations with academia and industry, we have developed a portfolio of breakthrough DLE technologies to suit various types of brines

Ceramic Membrane Technology

Our proprietary ceramic membrane technology, represents a breakthrough in selective ion transport. Crafted from solid-state lithium superconductors, this membrane offers unparalleled selectivity for lithium over other metal ions, achieving an SLi/Mg ratio exceeding 430,000 and an SLi/Na ratio greater than 16,000. This innovation enables the extraction of lithium even from ultra-low concentration resources, such as seawater containing only 0.2 ppm of lithium.
When paired with electrodialysis, the ceramic membrane facilitates the continuous production of lithium with >99% purity. This breakthrough is a direct result of our collaborative approach, leveraging the expertise of academic and industrial partners to create scalable and impactful solutions.

Decoupled Membrane-Free Cell Technology

Our decoupled and membrane-free electrochemical cell technology revolutionizes lithium extraction from challenging brines, particularly those with ultra-low lithium concentration and high magnesium-to-lithium ratios. This innovation combines iron-phosphate electrodes with silver/silver-halide redox electrodes to achieve highly efficient lithium recovery. It is uniquely compatible with ultra-low-lithium-concentration brines and produces battery-grade lithium carbonate (>99.95% purity).
A key advantage of this technology is its use of osmotic energy, which reduces energy consumption by up to 21.5% compared to conventional methods, ensuring a greener and more sustainable solution.
